Punjab Schools to Operate Only 2 Hours Daily From Dec 8: Updated Schedule
For students in Classes 1 through 8 throughout the province, the School-Based Assessment (SBA) 2025–26 midterm datesheet has been formally released by the Punjab Education Initiatives Management Authority. The announcement states that the midterm exams will start on December 12, 2025, with papers set for every topic covered by the revised SBA framework.

To guarantee prompt preparation and consistent implementation throughout Punjab, the datesheet has been distributed to all public and private schools.
Complete SBA 2025-26 Mid-Term Schedule (Class 1–8)
The assessment for each grade will be conducted according to the schedule issued by the authority. Schools have been instructed to strictly follow the official datesheet and complete all papers within the notified timeline.

Revised School Timings in Punjab From December 8
The Punjab School Education Department has also changed school timings due to the harsh winter conditions. As per the new schedule:
Morning Shift Timings
- 9:30 am to 11:30 am
(Only two hours of classes)
Afternoon Shift Timings
- 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm
- On Fridays: 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm
These timings will remain in effect until further notice and apply to both public and private schools in the province.
Punjab Winter Vacations 2025 Announced
In another update, the Punjab government has finalized the winter holidays 2025 schedule for all schools.

- Start: 23 December 2025
- End: 10 January 2026
- Schools Reopen: 13 January 2026
The education department confirmed that the winter break will be implemented uniformly across all government and private schools, ensuring a consistent schedule for students, teachers, and parents.
