The proposal was praised by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, who stated that winners of three-marla plots may obtain loans totaling Rs 1.5 million to build their homes. These loans would be repaid over a period of nine years in manageable monthly installments of Rs 14,000.

New Housing Scheme Initiated By CM Punjab

In a groundbreaking move toward homes for the impoverished, Nawaz Sharif formally launched Pakistan’s first-ever homeless program, “Apni Zameen, Apna Ghar.” Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif was present at the inaugural event, which also featured the first-ever digital lottery draw for free home plots.

At the request of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, who was also present at the occasion, President PML-N Muhammad Nawaz Sharif launched the aforementioned initiative and conducted the first digital ballot.

Free Plot’s Confirmation Call 

As the winners received personal phone congratulations, excitement erupted. In a touching gesture, the leadership gave plots to inhabitants of Bahawalpur and Rukhsana Bibi from Attock, two of the fortunate recipients. 

Congratulations, your free plot has been confirmed,” Nawaz Sharif said over the phone to Rukhsana Bibi.

Additionally, Mero Mai from Mandi Yazman, Bahawalpur, who had also won a plot, received a call from Chief Minister Punjab congratulating her and her husband, Ramesh Lal.

After speaking with Quaid PML-N Nawaz Sharif and Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, they were ecstatic. “You are our greatest national leader,” declared Ramesh Lal. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz thanked Quaid PML-N Nawaz Sharif for attending the ceremony and initiating this project during her speech.

She hanked all individuals who had won three-marla plots and declared that the winners would be eligible for a loan of Rs 1.5 million to construct their homes, whicth would be repaid over a period of nine years at a manageable monthly installment of Rs 14,000.

Punjab Residential Plots Applications 

In 19 districts of Punjab, including 730 in Jhelum, 388 in Kasur, 257 in Faisalabad, and 219 in Lodhran, he reported that 2000 applicants had obtained residential plots in 23 housing plans.

130 in Okara, 55 in Layyah, 52 in Bhakkar, 33 in Sahiwal, and 25 in Sargodha were among the additional allocations made during the first phase. Plots were also given to 24 districts in Khushab, 20 in Bahawalnagar, 17 in Mandi Bahauddin, 15 in Rajanpur, 11 in Attock, 8 in Gujrat, 7 in Bahawalpur, 4 in Jhang, 4 in Vehari, and 2 in Chiniot.

2,000 free plots have already been given to worthy residents in 19 Punjabi districts as part of the ambitious project’s initial phase:

Over 483,000 people registered, and 18,308 applications were found to be eligible for the lottery, demonstrating the huge popular reaction. Over 1.8 million people have downloaded the project’s digital app, “Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar,” demonstrating the enormous demand for reasonably priced housing.

A total of 145 billion in loans have been given to 118,000 persons thus far, enabling thousands of Pakistanis to realize their ambition of becoming homes.
