Over 100 Districts Covered In BISP Free SIM Phase 2!

The Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) has expanded the second phase of its Free SIM distribution initiative to more than 100 districts across Pakistan, enabling increased digital connectivity for millions of women.

Beneficiaries of this program will obtain secure SIM cards that are connected to the new Social Protection Account, enabling them to safely and directly receive payments. Phase 2 of BISP is moving quickly, with the goal of making digital banking simpler, quicker, and more transparent for worthy families across the country.

BISP Free Digital Wallet SIMs Disbursement Progress

Amer Ali Ahmed, the secretary of the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), reviewed the free SIM distribution process at the program’s headquarters on Monday as the second phase of the statewide rollout got underway, extending coverage to over 100 districts in Pakistan.

As part of the government’s effort to promote digital financial inclusion, 112,122 SIMs have been given to recipients nationwide thus far.

Review Session Highlights

The Secretary kept a careful eye on the real-time digital dashboard during the conference, which displayed updated SIM distribution data from every district in Pakistan that took part. 

The method offered immediate insights into the performance, difficulties, and advancement of field teams in Phase 2. 

There were also representatives from NADRA, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), the Special Communications Organization (SCO), and major telecom companies.

Digital Wallet-Linked SIMs for Faster, Safer Payments

With complete technical assistance from the Ministry of Information Technology, the Free SIM distribution campaign is being carried out on the Prime Minister’s direct orders. 

Each beneficiary of this program receives a SIM card that is safely connected to her digital wallet, providing clear and easy access to BISP payments. 

The government hopes to streamline the entire payment system, lessen reliance on intermediaries, and guarantee that women receive their aid without any delays or deductions by integrating SIMs with digital wallets.

Digital Wallet Accounts For 10M BISP Beneficiaries 

10 million beneficiaries will have wallet accounts for the first time in BISP’s history in order to guarantee more convenience, transparency, and a more respectable payment method.

Millions of low-income households will be integrated into Pakistan’s digital financial ecosystem after the transition is finished, which is anticipated to happen by March 2026.
