This eagerly anticipated addition makes the entire verification procedure quicker, simpler, and entirely online by doing away with the need to visit NADRA centers and stand in long lines.

NADRA Pak ID App Now Enables Online Biometric Verification

Another new digital service for citizens has been introduced by the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA). Through the Pak ID mobile application, citizens can now perform biometric verification for the sale and purchase of automobiles registered in Islamabad.

Online verification replaces physical verification as the method of verification. In the past, citizens had to go to the NADRA office and spend hours waiting in line for their turn. Before completing the remaining transfer procedures in the appropriate government office, the new method enables citizens to finish biometric checks from home.

NADRA Urges Citizens To Collect Their CNICs On Time

Citizens are instructed by the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) to pick up their Computerized National Identity Cards (CNICs) as soon as they are issued.

Identity cards that are not picked up after three months are disposed of in compliance with policy, according to NADRA. In order to have the card reissued, applicants must then submit a fresh application and pay the required price.

NADRA Alerts Citizens to Remove Deceased Members’ CNICs from Records

Prior to this, all people were asked by the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) to deactivate their deceased family members’ Computerized National Identity Cards (CNICs).

In an advice, NADRA advised residents to update their family records by visiting the closest center or using the Pak ID mobile app.

Even though 7 million deaths were recorded in union councils in March 2025, NADRA’s statistics did not reflect the cancellation of their ID cards.

NADRA Overview

In 1998, the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) was founded as the National Database Organization (NDO), an associated department of the Pakistani government’s Ministry of Interior.

The Directorate General of Registration (DGR) and NDO combined on March 10, 2000, to create NADRA, a separate corporate entity with the necessary authority to function autonomously and support good governance.

The National Database & Registration Authority has become well-known throughout the world for its accomplishments in offering identification, e-governance, and secure document solutions that accomplish the multifaceted objectives of reducing identity theft, protecting our clients’ interests, and assisting the general public.

Conclusion

NADRA’s new digital initiatives mark an important step toward modernizing citizen services in Pakistan. With the launch of online biometric verification for Islamabad vehicle transfers, people can now complete critical processes from home – saving time, effort, and long visits to NADRA centers.

At the same time, the authority continues to remind citizens to collect their CNICs on time and update family records, including canceling CNICs of deceased members, to ensure data accuracy.
