Voting Starts for NA and Provincial By-Elections Across Pakistan
Under strict security throughout the region, voting for by-elections in six National Assembly (NA) and seven Punjab Assembly (PA) constituencies has begun today (Sunday).

Following the disqualification of PTI members found guilty of their claimed involvement in the violent rioting on May 9, 2023, following the arrest of former prime minister Imran Khan, the majority of seats became vacant.

The six National Assembly constituencies where polling will take place are

- NA-96 (Faisalabad),
- NA-104 (Faisalabad),
- NA-129 (Lahore),
- NA-143 (Sahiwal)
- and NA-185 (Dera Ghazi Khan).
Seven Punjab Assembly Constituencies
The seven Punjab Assembly constituencies where by-polls are being held are
- PP-73 (Sargodha),
- PP-87 (Mianwali),
- PP-98 (Faisalabad),
- PP-115 (Faisalabad),
- PP-116 (Faisalabad),
- PP-203 (Sahiwal)
- and PP-269 (Muzaffargarh).
Essential Arrangements For Elections

As instructed by Inspector General of Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar, security measures for the by-elections throughout the province have been completed.
According to a Punjab Police official, about 20,000 police personnel and employees have been dispatched to manage security duties for the by-elections.
They have been told to concentrate only on providing a safe environment, adhering to all applicable laws, and upholding public trust by protecting voters and upholding law and order during the voting process when stationed outside specific polling places.
Except in situations involving firearms, explosives, prohibited objects, or attempts to instigate violence or jeopardize national security, they are not permitted to stop any eligible voter from entering a polling place.
ECP Code of Conduct for media
A code of conduct for the media covering the by-elections has been released by the ECP.
The unofficial results will be broadcast at least an hour after the polls close, according to the ECP spokesperson.
The spokesperson stated that it is important to note that the results are not final. The final and official results of the by-elections will only be announced by the Returning Officer (RO).
