Winter Break 2025: Schools to Closed from 16 December | Complete Holiday Plan

The Balochistan Education Department has officially released the schedule for winter vacations 2025 as temperatures in the province continue to fall sharply. Schools located in the coldest regions will observe an extended winter break to ensure student safety during the harsh weather.
Balochistan Winter Holidays 2025 – Schedule Announced
According to the notification, all government schools in Balochistan’s cold districts will remain closed for two and a half months, beginning 16 December 2025. Classes will resume after the winter spell ends, following the long-standing practice in the province’s mountainous areas where extreme cold makes regular schooling difficult.
Examinations in Chaman Already Underway
In Chaman, annual examinations for Classes 1 to 7 have already started and will continue from 16 November to 24 November.
Meanwhile, 8th-grade board exams, conducted under the Balochistan Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BBISE), will begin on 24 November 2025.
Punjab Announces Winter Vacations 2025 for All Schools
The Punjab School Education Department has also issued its winter vacation schedule for 2025. As per the official update, all public and private schools across the province will observe the winter break from:
- 23 December 2025 to 10 January 2026
Educational institutions will reopen on 13 January 2026, as 11 and 12 January fall on a weekend.
This uniform schedule applies to all government and private sector schools, ensuring consistency across the province.
Revised School Timings in Punjab Amid Smog Concerns
Earlier, the Punjab government revised school timings to protect students from deteriorating air quality.
DG Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Dr. Imran Hameed Sheikh confirmed that, due to heavy smog and rising pollution levels, all public and private schools, including those in Lahore, will open no earlier than 8:45 AM starting 3 November 2025.
These timings will remain in effect until 31 January 2026.
